What charter ?

The type of yacht you choose for your luxury charter vacation will shape the experience that you have, so it is important to understand what each charter yacht has to offer before you make a decision.

Charter yachts come in various types, the main ones being Motor Yachts, Sailing Yachts and Catamarans, which can then be categorized into their own sub groups or cross categories such as Event Yachts, for Corporate or Personal entertainment.

  • Motor Yachts offer the holiday of a lifetime, with a 5 Star hotel approach. The cabins are large and luxurious; you have a vast choice of entertainment and water toys, and often extensive exterior decks, hot tubs and exercise rooms. Their expert crew will attend to all of your needs. If you're looking for a relaxed holiday with all the amenities, want to have the flexibility to move around at will or cover long distances in between destinations, then a Motor Yacht is right for you.
  • Sailing Yachts offer the full experience of sailing, with increasing comfort and luxury. There have been many improvements in the past 10 years that have made Sailing Yachts some of the most amazing super yachts for charter with the same level of amenities and equipment than Motor Yachts.
  • Catamarans are gaining increased popularity because they offer the fun of sailing with excellent group space, privacy and comfort. They don't "tip" so the ride is more comfortable, you have great views from the salon, and you're always close to the water for that quick swim. There is also and increasing numbers of Power Catamarans, which offer excellent economy on fuel plus all the amenities of a Motor Yacht.
  • If you're planning an event, there is a broad range of yachts available for fabulous events, whether for team building, company celebration, client entertainment, wedding or any meeting where you just want to do something different. This includes "Static Charters" where your yacht is a floating hotel, conference center and party venue, at events such as the Film Festival, Monaco and MIPM Real Estate Conference in Cannes or Formula One Grand Prix such as in Monaco or Abu Dhabi.
  • Size also matters. The majority of yachts available for charter range from 22m to above 100m long with smaller yachts usually chartered for short trips, such as day charters, charter rates increasing first with the size. The general rule of thumb is that two guests can occupy one cabin. So, if two couples are chartering a yacht, two cabins should be sufficient space to accommodate four guests comfortably. However, this is to be weight against available interior or exterior space, the number of crew needed to achieve the expected level of service such as a dedicated chef, or the equipment and toys available on board.
